Indian Consumer Protection Act- 2020
In India, the Indian Consumer Protection Act 1986 was amended on 20 July 2020.
The Act changed the mode of administrative settlement of consumer disputes.
The Act provides for stiff imprisonment for any Brahmin advertising or adulteration by the seller and also provides for the establishment of a Central Consumer Protection Authority to intervene when consumers are found to be being wronged.

વિશ્વના તમામ ગ્રાહકોના હિતોનું રક્ષણ કરવાનો વિચાર સૌપ્રથમ 1962માં અમેરિકી પ્રમુખ જ્હોન એફ કેનેડીને આવ્યો હતો. 15 માર્ચ 1962 એ દિવસ હતો જ્યારે અમેરિકન પ્રમુખ જ્હોન એફ. કેનેડીએ ગ્રાહકોના હિતોની વાત કરી હતી. યુનાઇટેડ સ્ટેટ્સની કોંગ્રેસ.
આવો વિચાર ગ્રાહકો સમક્ષ રજૂ કરનાર સૌપ્રથમ અમેરિકી પ્રમુખ જ્હોન એ. કેનેડી હતા. તે પછી ગ્રાહક ચળવળમાં વધારો થયો અને 1983 થી દર વર્ષે વિશ્વ ગ્રાહક અધિકાર દિવસ તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.

ભારતમાં, ભારતીય ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા અધિનિયમ 1986 માં 20 જુલાઈ 2020 ના રોજ સુધારો કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો.
કાયદાએ ગ્રાહક વિવાદોના વહીવટી સમાધાનની પદ્ધતિમાં ફેરફાર કર્યો.
